YOUR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Steve ‘Toga’ Tognazzini

I love travelling.

I know I should probably start with “I have been passionate about photography all my life, since I came out of the womb. I lived in a dark room” etc. but my career in photography started with my passion for snowboarding, my inevitable need to travel and my desire to show the world all the things I saw.

I love to share my stories.

When something takes my breath away, I have to capture it, share it, help people to understand and feel what I have experienced.
I want people to experience what I have experienced.

I have seen amazing things, visited extraordinary places and my adventures led to me meeting people who have changed my life.

About me. In every new chapter of my life, I have always strived to be the greatest I can be. Some (like my partner) would say I am a perfectionist.

Snowboarding. I followed the snow and it led me to my camera. Like most, I wanted to capture everything I saw. When my photos were not representing my experiences I pursued an education in photography. I found I loved landscape. Beaches, cliffs, forests, rolling meadows and great cities. I refined and perfected my skill. A short time after starting my studies a classmate asked if I would shoot her wedding for her. She would fly me to Hayman Island, cover my expenses and I would pocket $1000 for my time. I explained I had never done anything of the sort before. She was unperturbed. When the day came, I was nervous. REALLY nervous. I had done my research, studied the process of weddings and knew her running sheet like the back of my hand.

What happened next was life changing.

I have worked a range of jobs. I had never worked a job; a 15hr shift no less, and loved every second of it. After the wedding, I had. I pursued my newfound love and started my new chapter. I feel my work is constantly evolving and (like all artists) I am my toughest critic.

Enter my partner, closest friend and second photographer. She keeps me in line. Keeps my head in check and stops me spending multiple days fixing the colour in a single image. She also helps me control my addiction to ‘new and shiny’ (and expensive) camera gear. We work well together. 98% of the time. A remarkable seven-year relationship is just part of the evidence. When I started a business, I purely wanted to share my passion, and be able to live doing a job I love. She has been encouraging the whole way and has seen a potential in me that I often struggle to see. Thus, we have continued the business together, as a team.

I hope after this blurb you now have a small insight into who I am, what I do, and why. I hope my images will fill in the rest.

I am a traveller, a snowboarder, an adventurer, a surfer, a rock climber, a lover, an experience capturer, a skater, a storyteller, and now, a wedding photographer.

Keshia Gesundheit

From as far back as I can remember I have always wanted to do everything. I have always wanted to experience everything. When opportunities are presented to me, I take them.

I have a fascination with people, animals, plants. Amoeba. Basically anything that lives. I excelled in biology. I am a vegetarian, a horse rider. I have a cat and a dog. I treat them like children. I feel a lot of empathy. For both humans and animals alike. Scared of cockroaches, but I can never kill them. I am strange. I like that I am strange. I like to think I see the world differently.

Academically I am a high achiever, without the results. Always taking on as much as I can in all directions. I like to keep busy, and often keep my plate full.

My parents have always been in the fashion industry. This has harbored my love of beautiful things. I really love beautiful things. Beautiful experiences. Sunsets and quirky fashion shoots.

I met Toga (Steve to some) through snowboarding and following the snow. We clicked instantly, sharing a passion for travel, exploring and adventure. We spent a full week together after our first meeting at a mutual friends party. We talked. A lot. And clicked. We clicked well.

I was set on studying. I value education, like I value colour. Brain fuel. We moved to the Gold Coast. Honestly, if you are going to study, having the surf at your doorstep is a must.

When Toga started studying photography I was like a sponge, taking on all the things he would tell me. My study was boring in comparison. Not as many colours used in exercise science. So I begged him to teach me. I did a photography course, when I was 16, using film and a dark room. It was something I enjoyed, however, like most 16 year olds I enjoyed everything. I moved on. Coming back to a camera is incredible. I love close shots. I want to capture images that make you feel the emotion. That put you in the moment. The images that make you laugh or cry. I like to think I bring this to our weddings.

Markus Lubitz

The newest and shiniest member of the Glass Slipper team, Markus is the definition of perfectionist if ever you have seen it! Being on board with the Glass Slipper team for the last year as Steve + Keshia continue to grow their little family, Markus’ camera skills have grown in leaps and bounds.

Having always been in to photography and everything design related Markus began taking photos in the same way that Steve did. Sitting at Mt Buller ( Probably in the rain or fog, or both ) we always had the desire to capture imagery of each other snowboarding. From here it grew into a love of travel and also to a love of taking photos of his AMAZING veggie garden.

A country boy at heart, growing up out in Leongatha, the images Markus produce always seem to have a great romantic feel to them. The love and affection of each couple continually shine through in everything he creates.

    Hi,

I am having my wedding at the Watermark Hotel (Gold Coast)next year and I was just wondering what packages you offer or what your rates were.

Also, have you ever photographed weddings at the hotel and if so do you have some photos that I could look at?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

My Fiancée and I are getting married on the Gold Coast on March 6 2015.

We are currently looking to find a photographer for our wedding and were after some information about the packages you offer.

Ideally we are after 2 photographers on the day, one to basically follow the bride, and the other for the wedding party as such, but we are keen to see and explore all options.

We are going to be back over on the gold coast between July 3-5 and would ideally like to meet up during that time to look at options.

Our wedding is going to be held at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, followed by an evening reception at the North Burleigh Surf Lifesaving Club.
And we will be staying, and getting ready on the day at Solnamara Beachfront Apartments, 202 The Esplanade, Burleigh Heads. Which is located within easy walking distance to the surf club.
Our guest will be getting transported to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, and also transported from there to the Surf club after the ceremony.

If you could get back to me with some options, availability, and timeframes for booking purposes please.

    Thanks,ReplyCancel
